GANDERBAL: The week-long Good Governance week (GGW) programme witnessed huge public participation in awareness programmes on self employment schemes, public grievance redressal camps, Health check-up camps and other activities carried by various departments in district Ganderbal.
During the week long campaign of the ‘Good Governance Week’ being celebrated under ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ various activities were carried out in the district for taking good governance at the doorsteps and ensuring redressal of possible grievances received both through online and offline mode besides improving service delivery.
On concluding day, RBSK organised a medical camp at DEIC Unit DH Ganderbal For screening and identification of 4 Ds among children aged 0 to 18 years.
Meanwhile, the Horticulture department organized various awareness programs in Kangan Sub-Division and Manigam about the services and schemes being provided by the department.
Earlier, the Fisheries department carried out an awareness programme about the schemes of the department at Rayil.
Meanwhile, sanitary napkins were distributed among adolescent girls by ASHA workers at door steps and promotion of menstrual hygiene was done under recently launched Menstrual Hygiene programme.
To take the Poultry Sector to the next level of modernization, a special Camp was held at the NCDC sponsored Zaberwan Poultry Cooperative Society Ganderbal, where it was deliberated with the stakeholders to install a Unit for dressing and packaging of Poultry birds on modern lines. The project shall be taken up in convergence with the Animal Husbandry Department under the schemes extended by the said Department.
