NCGG, JK IMPARD organize Capacity Building Training Course for Senior JKAS Officers at LBSNAA

NEW DELHI: National Centre for Good Governance (NCGG), New Delhi, in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Institute of Management Public Administration and Rural Development, organized two week Capacity Building Training Course for the Senior Officers of JKAS at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA).

Pertinently, this was for the second time that mid career training programme was organized for officers of J&K in line with the new Training Policy adopted by the Government of J&K.

Union Minister of State in PMO, Dr. Jitender Singh, was the chief guest on the valedictory function of the event.

Dr. Singh appreciated JK IMPARD for its efforts and initiatives in implementing e-Office and organizing capacity building training programmes for JKAS. He also praised Director General IMPARD, Saurabh Bhagat, for his endeavors towards further streamlining of the Institute.

Union Minister informed that several good governance reforms have been introduced in J&K which inter alia included Prevention of Corruption Act and abolition of interviews for recruitments. He also informed that the cadre review of civil service officers is under way. He emphasized that officers who have undergone training must empower themselves with new ethos and best practices.

V. Shrinivas, Special Secretary and Director General NCGG also addressed the participants.

Saurabh Bhagat, who also spoke on the occasion, congratulated the participant JKAS officers for successfully completing their mid career training at LBSNAA. He expressed gratitude to officers of LBSNAA and NCGG for shouldering the responsibility of conducting this innovative training course for JKAS officers.

Director General informed that the J&K Government has resolved that General Administrative Department, in coordination with J&K IMPARD, will prepare an annual calendar on mid career training under which 25-30 officers would be deputed for this course every year. Also, J&K IMPARD will formulate training modules in consultation with specialized Institutes of the country.
