Taking strong note of the complaints of violation of Covid Appropriate Behavior (CAB) and over-pricing, the District Administration launched a massive district-wide inspection drive to curb over-pricing and take immediate action against instances of CAB violations.

The team led by Naib-Tehsildar, Zeeshan Fazli and other officers conducted inspection of various business establishments including vegetable, fruit sellers, Kiryana, Bakery and other business establishments at different markets of Bandipora.

During the inspection, several traders were booked under different laws for violation of various laws and a fine of Rs 4000 was imposed on erring traders.
On the occasion, Officers stressed on adopting covid appropriate behavior by following all precautionary measures including use of face masks and urged the traders to avoid over-pricing and other illegal and unethical practices. Officers also asked the vendors to follow the packaged commodity rules and other Metrology Acts besides following Covid SOPs strictly.

The DC said that the drive will continue on a regular basis across all district markets to keep a check on traders and shopkeepers for indulging in overcharging and other unethical activities besides directing officers to ensure strict implementation of CAB.
