Plan To Transform All Farms Into Revenue Earning, Employment Generating Assets: Dir Agri Kashmir

SRINAGAR: The Director Agriculture Kashmir, Chowdhary Mohammad Iqbal Thursday visited Seed Multiplication Farm (SMF) Gangbugh and inspected different blocks of the farm besides he also took stock of different Agriculture activities. 

Addressing the staff and technical experts of Gangbugh Farm, the Director said that the department has started an initiative and is endeavouring to optimize the utility of departmental farms to attain self reliance in the field of seed requirement for Kashmir Division.

He said they have already fixed benchmarks and targets for every departmental farm in the valley so far as the production is concerned. He said after visiting different farms during the recent times they are satisfied and optimistic that the department could achieve those targets in an effective manner. 

Director said that the department is executing a comprehensive plan  to transform all the departmental farms into the revenue earning and employment generating assets for the Department. 

On the occasion, the Director initiated the sowing of Knol Khol and cabbage Seeds under controlled conditions for early distribution among the beneficiaries. 

The Director was accompanied by the senior officers of the department and the Farm Manager.
