KUPWARA: As part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, District Information Centre, Kupwara Friday organized a Mehfil-e-Mushaira in collaboration with Shejaar-e-Adab Lolab at Kantpora in Lolab sub division of Kupwara district.
The renowned poet and academician Bashir Tahir presided over the function while as District Information Officer Kupwara, Mohammad Yousuf Mir attended as chief guest on the occasion.
The poets recited latest poetry in local Kashmiri and Urdu languages in the Mushaira and mesmerized the audience.
Speaking at the occasion, the DIO said that Kupwara district has rich cultural ethos and traditions, which needs to be carried forward to the new generations. He said the Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) always provides a platform to uphold and sustain this rich culture. He exhorted upon the fair-minded and knowledgeable budding youth of the district to come forward and take part in the cultural and artistic activities in the district.
In his address, Bashir Tahir complimented the efforts of the Information department in organizing literary and Cultural activities in the district. The proceedings of the Mushaira were conducted by the renowned poet Nasir Masroor.
