KULGAM: In order to to review implementation of various ongoing forest development activities, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests & Head of Forest Force, Dr. Mohit Gera, today visited several forest areas in district Kulgam .
The Principal Chief Conservator of Forests visited Compartment N-27b of Chanderghii site where he planted deodar saplings under Green J&K Drive scheme. He directed officials to take immediate steps to complete plantation targets.
PCCF also visited CAMPA Closure 2017-18 at Chambgund, where he interacted with the staff and necessary directions with respect to the protection of the plantation closures were given by the head of the department.
He also advised the staff to improve the protection scenario of the forests and work in close coordination of the local people and priority should be given to the species having immediate output and that are beneficial for the local people.
PCCF visited Range office DH Pora and inspected proposed site for Plant Nursery, Forest Check Posts in the Division.
Later, he inspected the Central (HT) plant nursery Kulgam and SC Nursery Kulgam and directed the staff for production of healthy planting stock.
Dr. Mohit also interacted with the officials of the Forest Division Kulgam and Forest Protection Force and directed them to follow the instruction and guidelines issued from time to time and to work in coordination for better conservation of the forests with much thrust to the protection of the forest land.
He was accompanied by Conservator of Forests South Circle, Tawheed Ahmad Deva, DFO Anantnag, Feroz Ahmad Chaket, DFO Kulgam, Syed Wasim Gull and DD Forest Protection Force, Mumtaz sofi.
